London & Partners’ director of International Trade and Investment David Slater talks about their ambitions to help shape a new economy.
London & Partners is the Mayor of London’s official promotional agency. Their mission is to tell London’s story brilliantly to an international audience.
Their purpose is to support the Mayor’s priorities by promoting London internationally, as the best city in the world in which to invest, work, study and visit. They do this by devising creative ways to promote London and to amplify the Mayor’s messages, priorities and campaigns to international audiences.
In this video, David considers their ambitions to help shape a new economy for London.
According to David, there are three main areas that companies look to when they’re thinking about growing and thriving:
- Availability of skilled talent
- Market
- Business Environment.
David and his team have three main missions:
- Helping international businesses come to London
- Helping scaling London businesses to find opportunities overseas through the Mayor’s International Business Programme.
David Slater believes that there are a umber of policy suggestions included in the New Economy report that are really worth serious consideration by Central Government.
“It’s really about broadening the horizons of London-based businesses and helping them to succeed.”
